Conditioning
Why Conditioning is Essential?
Moisture Restoration: Replenishes lost moisture and prevents dryness.
Improved Manageability: Makes hair easier to detangle and style.
Damage Prevention: Protects hair from environmental damage and breakage.
Enhanced Shine and Smoothness: Leaves hair looking shiny and feeling smooth.
How to Condition Your Hair?
Choose the Right Conditioner
For Different Hair Types:
Dry Hair: Opt for a hydrating or moisturising conditioner.
Oily Hair: Use a lightweight, balancing conditioner.
Color-Treated Hair: Select a color-safe conditioner to protect and preserve hair color.
Curly Hair: Look for a conditioner with extra moisture and frizz control.
Tip:
Avoid conditioners with silicones if you have fine or thin hair, as they can weigh hair down.
Wash Your Hair
Shampoo: Start by shampooing your hair to remove dirt, oil, and product buildup. Use a shampoo suitable for your hair type.
Rinse: Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water to ensure all shampoo is removed.
Tip:
If your hair is very tangled, consider using a pre-shampoo treatment or a detangling spray to ease the process.
Apply Conditioner
Amount: Use a quarter-sized amount for short to medium hair, and more for longer or thicker hair.
Application: Apply conditioner starting from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair. Avoid applying directly to the scalp, especially if you have oily hair, as it can weigh hair down and make the scalp greasy.
Distribution: Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to distribute the conditioner evenly through your hair.
Tip:
For extra dry or damaged hair, consider applying a leave-in conditioner after rinsing out your regular conditioner.
Leave In for Optimal Time
Standard Conditioner: Leave the conditioner in your hair for 2-5 minutes to allow it to penetrate and moisturize the hair shaft.
Deep Conditioner: For deep conditioning treatments, leave the product in for 10-30 minutes, depending on the product instructions.
Tip:
For an intensive moisture boost, cover your hair with a shower cap and apply heat using a hair dryer or a warm towel.
Rinse Thoroughly
Water Temperature: Rinse your hair with lukewarm or cool water to seal the hair cuticles and lock in moisture.
Complete Rinse: Ensure all the conditioner is rinsed out to prevent buildup and greasiness.
Tip:
Finish with a cold water rinse to add extra shine to your hair.
Dry and Style
Towel Dry: Gently blot your hair with a towel to remove excess water. Avoid vigorous rubbing, which can cause breakage and frizz.
Air Dry or Blow Dry: Air dry your hair whenever possible to minimize heat damage. If you use a blow dryer, apply a heat protectant spray beforehand and use the dryer on a low heat setting.
Tip:
Use a micro-fibre towel or an old T-shirt instead of a regular towel to reduce frizz and damage.
Additional Tips
Frequency: Condition your hair every time you shampoo. Adjust the frequency based on your hair type and needs.
Protein Treatments: Incorporate protein treatments periodically if your hair is chemically treated or damaged to strengthen and repair it.
Clarifying Shampoo: Use a clarifying shampoo once a month to remove any conditioner buildup, especially if you use heavy or silicone-based products.
